Gioia Sannitica – Hours of deep concern in the Caserta area over the fate of Massimiliano Ferraiuolo, 54, a resident of Gioia Sannitica, who has not been heard from for over forty-eight hours.
The alarm was raised on Sunday, when the chef left his home and never returned, completely disappearing and plunging his family into anguish.
The rescue device
The search was triggered by a report from the 54-year-old's mother, concerned about her son's prolonged silence. The Caserta Provincial Fire Department responded with a massive deployment of forces, setting up a Local Command Unit (LCU) on site as early as Sunday to coordinate search operations in real time.
Drones, helicopters, and drones: technology at the service of research
The search operations aren't limited to the beaten track. The rescue operation, coordinated by the Piedimonte Matese detachment, involves specialists from various departments:
TAS staff: experts in topography applied to rescue operations to map every square meter of the territory.
SAPR Unit: specialists in remotely piloted aircraft systems (drones) to fly over the most impervious areas.
Pontecagnano Flight Department: A helicopter is conducting low-level flyovers to detect signs from above.
The contribution of dog lovers
Given the complex nature of the area, characterized by both rural and wooded areas, the Canine Unit from the Perugia command has also been deployed to assist. The sniffer dogs are working tirelessly to identify a scent trail that could lead to the 54-year-old. So far, despite the impressive technological and human effort, the search has not yet yielded the desired results.

Massimiliano Ferraiuolo's situation is truly worrying. I hope the search yields a positive outcome soon. It's important that rescuers continue their work without stopping, even after two days.
