Sarno is still reeling from the killing of Gaetano Russo, 61, a well-known delicatessen and baker in Piazza Sabotino. The autopsy, which lasted nearly three hours, revealed a dramatic picture: approximately fifteen stab wounds were found on the man's body, nine of which were fatal. According to the findings, death occurred within moments.
The autopsy was performed by the coroner Francesca Consalvo, a consultant for the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office, in the presence of Professor Antonio Mirabella, appointed by the civil party and assisted by the lawyer Giovanni Annunziata.
Meanwhile, Sirica, arrested on murder charges, chose to exercise his right to remain silent during the arrest validation hearing. However, the suspect expressed his desire to be questioned by Public Prosecutor Federica Loconte, the lead investigator in the Nocera Prosecutor's Office.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon in the Episcopio Cathedral.
