The Naples Police Headquarters continues to implement extraordinary measures to combat drug possession and trafficking in the city.

Yesterday morning, the State Police arrested a 21-year-old Neapolitan man in Scampia, already known to law enforcement and with a criminal record, on suspicion of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

Specifically, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, engaged in a territorial patrol, observed the young man talking to a man while passing along Via Giuseppe Marrazzo. Shortly thereafter, the 21-year-old approached a cash register and removed a package, which he then handed to the man in exchange for a banknote.

The police intervened immediately, interrupting the operation and detaining the young man. Following the search, the man was found in possession of €163 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

Inside the box, however, the officers found a bag containing nine packages of heroin (cobret), for a total weight of approximately three grams.
In light of the findings, the 21-year-old was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
