Salerno – The S5 Territorial Area and the Salerno Local Health Authority (ASL) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to launch home telehealth and telemedicine services. Beneficiaries include non-self-sufficient elderly and vulnerable individuals in the municipalities of Salerno and Pellezzano. The agreement integrates social and healthcare services through digital technologies, bringing care closer to residents.

Innovative services for daily care

The protocol includes telemonitoring of vital signs, televisits, teleconsultations with doctors and providers, and multidimensional assessments for Individualized Care Plans. It also includes caregiver training and data analysis for prevention and early screening. Expected outcome: a reduction in emergency room visits and hospital admissions.

The words of President De Roberto

"With this agreement," explains Paola De Roberto, delegate president of the S5 Area and Councilor for Social Policies for the City of Salerno, "we're not just introducing new technologies, we're building a digital bridge that brings care and assistance into the homes of the most vulnerable. It's a concrete response to the challenges of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP): uniting social and healthcare services in a seamless process, leaving no one behind, supporting families and caregivers for true technological inclusion."

The strategic vision of the Salerno ASL

The initiative aligns with the strategy of the Salerno Local Health Authority (ASL) General Management. The General Manager, Gennaro Sosto, promotes digital innovation for an integrated healthcare system, putting the person at the center and the local health authorities as key partners for local care.

The role of telemedicine governance

Antonio Coppola, director of the Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence Process Governance Unit, emphasizes: "Telemedicine is a social device that only works in a collaborative network with the various Departments. This protocol strengthens operational integration, system interoperability, and data sharing, for continuous, personalized care pathways that are aligned with real needs."

A territorial welfare model that aims to become a regional example, combining technology and institutions for concrete, daily care.
