Arzano – Law enforcement pressure on the Arzano area shows no signs of abating.

In a climate still heated following the murder of Rosario Coppola, Carabinieri officers from the local station and the Casoria Company pulled off a major raid during an extraordinary patrol, arresting two young men found in possession of a ready-to-use clandestine weapon.

The pursuit and seizure of the weapon

The officers were patrolling Via Alberto Barone when they noticed two young men next to a scooter. Upon seeing their uniforms, their reaction was immediate: while 23-year-old Gennaro Salvati, with no criminal record, remained motionless, 22-year-old Andrea Olivello, already known to the police, attempted a desperate escape on foot.

Olivello's escape was short-lived. During the chase, the young man stumbled, dropping a 7,65 caliber pistol with its serial number erased. The weapon was not only loaded, but also had the hammer cocked: a detail that demonstrates the men's dangerous nature and their readiness for a potential firefight. The Carabinieri immediately secured the gun and apprehended the fugitive.

The Shadow of the Coppola Murder

The location of the arrest is not a negligible detail: Via Barone is in fact the same location where, only a few days ago, the shooting that resulted in the death of Rosario Coppola began. This geographic coincidence has triggered maximum alert in the investigative offices.

Both arrested men were transferred to prison on charges of possession of an unlicensed weapon and receiving stolen goods.

Ballistic analysis and digital tracking

The investigators' attention is now shifting to two technical fronts:

Ballistic testsThe gun will be analyzed to determine whether it was used in the recent bloody events that have shocked the Neapolitan hinterland.

Cell Phone AnalysisInvestigators are combing through the two young men's chats, messages, and phone records. The goal is to reconstruct their contact network and determine whether the two were acting on behalf of local clans, potentially linking them to a rearmament or retaliatory strategy by the dominant local gangs.
