On Saturday morning, the State Police arrested a 20-year-old from Afragola for resisting arrest and assaulting a public official.
The chase starts from a routine check
Officers from the Afragola Police Station, during a patrol, noticed the young man riding a scooter on Via Salicelle. Upon seeing the patrol car, the 20-year-old ignored the order to stop and accelerated, sparking a high-voltage chase.
Dangerous maneuvers and escape on foot
The fugitive drove several streets with reckless maneuvers, endangering traffic. Upon reaching the roundabout on Via Salicelle, he abandoned his scooter and attempted to flee on foot, dropping a package containing 1,10 grams of marijuana.
Arrested after a fight
The police recovered the drugs and caught up with the young man. After a struggle, they subdued him despite his resistance. In addition to the arrest, he was also charged with an administrative fine for illegal possession of narcotics for personal use. The arrested man is at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

It's a very strange thing for a young man to run away from a police car. It seems almost impossible, and it's unclear why he did that. I hope justice takes its course, as it should.
