Arzano – A night of lead and blood on the streets of Arzano. Carabinieri officers from the local station and the Casoria operations unit responded quickly to Via Sette Re following a violent shooting that left one person dead and one injured.
The victim's name was Rosario Coppola and he had a criminal record dating back to 2005, not linked to Camorra association. The injured man is Antonio Persico, with no criminal record.
According to initial reports, the ambush occurred while the two targets—a 52-year-old man and a 25-year-old—were sitting inside a car. The gunmen opened fire, aiming at the older man's chest and back. He was hit in the back, but there was nothing they could do; he died instantly. The 25-year-old, however, was wounded in the arm, managing to escape the fury of the bullets.
He was taken to Giugliano hospital where doctors are treating him.
The area was immediately cordoned off to allow for forensic analysis. Carabinieri officers are now combing the area for shell casings and useful evidence, as well as examining any surveillance cameras within the perimeter of the attack.
Investigations are currently proceeding rapidly to clarify the exact dynamics of the raid and identify the underlying cause of the crime, without excluding any possibility, from settling scores to organized crime.

What happened in Arzano is a very tragic event, but I'm not sure I fully understand the reasons behind this violence. Let's hope the authorities can shed light on the situation and that justice is served.
