Agropoli – Hours of anxiety and intense activity for rescuers searching for Luigi Marchesani, the 40-year-old who hasn't been heard from for four days.
A first, partial breakthrough came in the last few hours with the discovery of his Ape car, located along Via Pirandello, in the hilly area of San Marco, along the ridge that connects Agropoli to Ogliastro Cilento.
The discovery of the vehicle
The vehicle was found in a remote area, a detail that allowed investigators to narrow down the scope of their investigation. However, the empty interior did not immediately provide any concrete clues: the mystery remains as to what happened after the man abandoned the vehicle and what direction he took on foot.
Investigators are trying to reconstruct the 40-year-old's last movements, but so far no useful information has emerged to trace a precise route.
Rescuers working in a difficult terrain
The rescue operation is in full swing. Carabinieri officers from the local company, municipal police officers, and volunteer teams from the Civil Protection Department are on site. Operations are proving particularly complex due to the terrain: San Marco Hill is characterized by dense vegetation and steep sections that make it difficult for ground crews to navigate.
To overcome the logistical difficulties, a drone was also sent into the air, tasked with mapping the most inaccessible and rugged areas of the Mediterranean scrub from above.
The family's appeal
The alarm was raised by the man's daughter, who, having failed to see him return and unable to contact him, contacted law enforcement to report him missing. As the hours passed, the local community and his family grew increasingly concerned, as they awaited with bated breath any updates on the search.
