Giugliano – It was supposed to be an intimate evening, perhaps a first date or a special encounter, but it turned into a direct return to custody. It happened in the middle of the night in Varcaturo, a coastal hamlet of Giugliano, where the Carabinieri abruptly interrupted a romantic encounter that violated judicial orders.
The vacuum control
It all began around 1:00 a.m. on Via Ripuaria. A Carabinieri patrol car was carrying out routine patrols and stopped at the home of a 29-year-old local man under house arrest. The officers rang the bell and waited, but there was no response from the apartment. The man was not home. The escape alarm was immediately raised, and a search began around the house.
The bitter surprise in the car
The "escape," however, is very short. A few meters from the building, the Carabinieri notice a car parked with the windows rolled up and the courtesy light on. Two figures can be seen inside. The officers discreetly approach to verify the occupants' identities. When the window is rolled down, all doubt is dispelled: the man behind the wheel is indeed the prisoner they were supposed to find in his bed.
Next to him is a woman, visibly confused. Her expression clearly shows she doesn't understand the gravity of the situation, perhaps imagining a routine traffic stop. The reality, however, is quite different: the Carabinieri know the man's name and criminal record perfectly well.
The apologies and the arrest
The scene quickly descends into embarrassment. The 29-year-old gets out of the vehicle and attempts to justify himself, making excuses that don't hold up against the evidence. The escape is flagrant. The romantic rendezvous ends in the worst possible way: the man is arrested for escape and placed under house arrest again, pending trial. For the couple, it's an evening to be truly forgotten.

This story is very strange and makes me think about how some people don't understand the rules. Being under house arrest means staying home and not going out, especially for a date. I wonder how such things can happen.
