Naples – Carabinieri raided the Vomero neighborhood overnight: a 42-year-old man was caught red-handed tinkering with an Audi Q3 parked on the street.

The man was arrested for attempted aggravated robbery, while his young accomplice was reported at large. It happened on the night between February 9th and 10th on Via Rossini, at the corner of Via Galdieri.

A patrol car from the Naples Mobile Radio Unit spotted the individual—identified as Antonio Passariello, born in Naples on December 18, 1983—breaking into the high-powered car. A 21-year-old woman with no criminal record was standing beside him, assisting him in the operation.

The officers intervened immediately, detaining both men. The 42-year-old, already known to law enforcement for a criminal record, was placed under arrest. The young woman, however, was charged at large with attempted robbery.

The Audi Q3, once verified to be in the absence of serious damage, was returned to its rightful owner, who had parked the car in a residential area.

Passariello is now at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending the summary hearing to validate his arrest and trial. This operation confirms the constant vigilance of the Carabinieri of the Vomero and the Radiomobile unit in the residential and hilly areas of Naples, often targeted by car thieves and organized gangs stealing luxury vehicles.
