Arzano – A normal school day turns into a nightmare for teachers and students. It happened at the Don Geremia Piscopo Comprehensive School on Via Napoli, where a math lesson was abruptly interrupted by an act of reckless folly.
The incident involved two very young 15-year-old students, reported by the local Carabinieri station for illegally carrying offensive objects. The incident, which could have escalated into tragedy, shocked the school community and brought the delicate issue of school safety back into the spotlight.
The lesson was interrupted by the sound of a blade
It was early in the morning when, in the silence of the classroom, a sharp noise caught everyone's attention. A 15-year-old student, in a gesture as dramatic as it was irresponsible, pulled a double-bladed switchblade from his pocket and placed it firmly on his desk. The metallic sound of the weapon hitting the surface chilled the air, interrupting the teacher and shocking his classmates.
The teacher's intervention and the arrival of the Carabinieri
The teacher reacted promptly, approaching the boy and managing to grab the knife without escalating the situation. The weapon was secured, and the principal was immediately alerted. Given the seriousness of the incident, the principal did not hesitate to call the Carabinieri from the Arzano station, who rushed to the scene.
The search and the second discovery
Once in the classroom, the officers, with the consent of the teachers, decided to increase their checks to prevent further risks. Unfortunately, the decision proved appropriate: during the backpack search, the Carabinieri found a second knife, this time a common kitchen knife, hidden in the backpack of another fifteen-year-old in the same class.
Reports and custody to parents
At the end of the operation, the two knives were seized, and the two minors were reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Naples. After being identified, the two boys were released to their respective families.

It seems to me that the situation has been handled, but I don't understand how there could be such unprepared and uninformed kids. The teacher responded well, but the school should conduct more checks and engage in closer dialogue with parents. Some information was missing; perhaps psychological support or serious prevention is needed.
