Arzano – It's nighttime when the Casoria Radiomobile Unit patrol car drives down Via Napoli. Ahead of them, a car carrying a man appears. They stop him, his behavior arousing suspicion. It's Giuseppe Bussola, already known to law enforcement.

During a thorough search, the Carabinieri found two clear bags in the glove compartment. In the first, a 90-gram stone of cocaine ready to be cut; in the other, 6 grams of pre-measured cocaine.

The criminal profile and the connection with the clan

The man was arrested for drug possession with intent to sell and taken to prison. Bussola had recently been released from prison after being arrested in April 2023 for attempted extortion, aggravated by mafia methods, against the Bellagio bar.

The same, together with other leading members of the 167 clan, a subgroup of the Monfregolo and currently free, requested an abbreviated trial which allowed for a reduction of a third of the sentence.

The attempted extortion of 2023

Those arrested along with Bussola were Davide Pescatore, aka "pal e fierr," Salvatore Lupoli, aka "o'trombone," and Antonio Alterio. They were jailed after the owner of the Bellagio bar reported them to VF, who was assisted from the very beginning by lawyer Alessandro Motta of the SOS Antiracket Antiusura APS association. They were nailed not only by the detailed complaint from the shopkeeper but also by video surveillance footage.

The four, strong in their clan membership and criminal record, had attempted to force the owner of the Bellagio bar to pay a bribe of 2 euros a month to "Arzano's friends" and gain peace.

The capture of the fourth man

For this reason, in April 2023, they all ended up in prison. Meanwhile, the fourth member of the group, Davide Pescatore, went missing and was subsequently arrested by the Carabinieri of Castello di Cisterna in an old building in the historic center of Giugliano, also with the use of drones.

The order, issued at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate and executed by the State Police, came after investigations by the Flying Squad and the Frattamaggiore police station, coordinated by the Anti-Mafia Department. The investigation revealed that the four, starting on March 26, 2023, had targeted the large commercial business, explicitly presenting themselves as emissaries of the clan.

The situation on the ground

Investigative checks revealed that they were four high-ranking members of the Arzano 167 clan, still operating in the area. Meanwhile, the escalation of thefts and robberies continues unabated.

I read the article about Arzano, and it seems like a complicated situation. The Carabinieri arrested a man already known to the police. In the glove compartment, they found two bags containing cocaine, 90 grams and 6 grams, already dosed. The connection to the clan is described, but some doubts remain about the method and timing of the search.
