Benevento – A tragic road accident occurred at dawn this morning on Provincial Road 213, between Limatola and Castel Morrone. A Fiat Panda, carrying two people, left the road and plunged approximately twenty meters into a ravine. One person was killed and one person was seriously injured.
The victim
Mario Marotta, 38, originally from Maddaloni and resident in Caiazzo, who was traveling in the passenger seat, died instantly from the serious injuries sustained in the crash.
The wounded
The driver of the car, Paolo Iannucci, 37, originally from Caserta but resident in Dugenta, Benevento, was seriously injured. He was treated by paramedics and rushed to the San Pio Hospital in Benevento, where he is currently hospitalized.
Rescue and investigations

I don't understand how this could have happened. We drive along that road often, and such a serious accident seems strange to me. Perhaps the safety of that stretch of road needs to be reassessed.
