Nearly a kilogram of cocaine, cash, and packaging materials hidden in the home. This is the result of an operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Avellino Company, who arrested a 36-year-old local man red-handed on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
The operation began yesterday afternoon, during a patrol conducted in civilian clothes by members of the Operations Section. The man was stopped as he was leaving his home, and his behavior, deemed suspicious, prompted the Carabinieri to investigate further.
The subsequent personal and home search uncovered 935 grams of cocaine, as well as precision scales and packaging materials. €11.750 in cash was also seized, believed to be the probable proceeds of drug dealing.
In consultation with the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office, the 36-year-old was arrested and transferred to the Bellizzi Irpino prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities. Investigations are continuing to reconstruct any possible links to other drug trafficking activities in the area.

This is very serious news and raises concerns about the drug situation in the country. However, I wonder how a man with so much cocaine in his home wasn't spotted before. Checks are crucial for everyone's safety.
