Protests continue in Bagnoli against construction work related to the America's Cup, the international sailing competition Naples will host in 2027. Shortly before dawn, several citizens' committees set up another roadblock to prevent trucks from passing through on their way to the construction sites, effectively slowing down the start of planned activities in the area.
The action began in the early hours of the morning, when activists positioned themselves along the access roads used by heavy vehicles. During the demonstration, a banner was displayed reading "Bagnoli is not for sale," a slogan that summarizes the position of the committees opposed to the project and concerned about the impact of the works on the area and the livability of the neighborhood.
After the blockade, protesters began a march that wound its way from Via Nuova Bagnoli to Via Cocchia, crossing some of the city's main thoroughfares in the western part of the city.
