Carabinieri from the Bacoli station arrested a 43-year-old man accused of "stalking, domestic violence, improper robbery, personal injury, and domestic violence" against his 44-year-old ex-wife. According to a medical report, the woman sustained injuries that were deemed to heal within 21 days.
According to the military's reconstruction, the victim—separated for approximately two years and the mother of two children, aged 18 and 12—was forced to live in a constant climate of fear: stakeouts outside her home and workplace, stalking, including in her car, shouting, insults, and threats. The 44-year-old reportedly filed four reports between the end of last year and the beginning of this year, including on Christmas Day, but was unable to stop the alleged escalation.
The episode at the port: "I just want to talk"
The latest incident, considered the most dangerous, occurred yesterday. The woman was accompanied by a friend to the hospital in Pozzuoli for a check-up. Once the escort was over, while waiting, the 44-year-old reached the port of Baia, convinced she was being followed.
At that point, the complaint states, she stopped and hid behind a wall. A few moments later, a black station wagon arrived, carrying her ex-husband. The man parked, approached the woman's car, and checked it, before driving away.
When the 44-year-old's phone rang (her friend had finished her visit and was asking to be filmed), she ran back to the car. It was then, according to the reconstruction, that the 43-year-old entered the car through the left rear door, grabbed her from behind, and snatched her phone: "I just want to talk," he said. The victim managed to escape, but a struggle ensued, during which the phone fell to the ground; the woman retrieved it and ran to the Port Authority station, calling for help.
The videos and the deferred arrest
A soldier reportedly let the woman into the building, while the man — again according to reports — was shouting and waving behind the fence, before walking away.
Alerted, the Carabinieri acquired footage from the port area's video surveillance systems. The footage, they explain, shows the man entering his car, the fight, and the victim fleeing toward the Port Authority. After the search began, the 43-year-old was located at his home and arrested.
For the 44-year-old, in addition to the 21-day prognosis, there remains hope that the military's intervention could mark the end of a nightmare.

I read the news and it all seems clear but also confusing. The story is long and the woman apparently reported it several times, but the protection didn't work, and now we just hope that the police will do justice and life will go back to normal.
