According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the three appeared at the cash register attempting to pay with counterfeit 50-euro bills. During the subsequent search, officers found and seized additional counterfeit banknotes totaling €950. In addition to the counterfeit money, they also found burglary tools and altered keys, elements that have aggravated the suspects' situation and which will now be the subject of further investigation.
A 40-year-old resident of Altavilla Irpina was arrested and taken to prison, while the other two involved, a man and a woman living in the province of Naples, were charged at large.
