The immediate call for help to the Single Emergency Number was crucial, however. It was a deeply emotional moment for the elderly woman, who was able to regain what had been stolen from her through deception, but it also signaled a strong signal of the State's presence in the area.
The incident confirms the Carabinieri's constant vigilance in combating scams targeting the elderly, a particularly hateful phenomenon that continues to affect the most vulnerable segments of the population. The advice remains to be wary of requests for money or valuables made by claiming to be law enforcement officers and to immediately contact 112 if you suspect anything.

It seems like good news to me but I still know some things that don't add up, the police or the Carabinieri shouldn't act so easily, the question of reporting to 112 is correct but many elderly people don't understand the numbers so they are easily fooled, it would be better to have more frequent information and checks.
