A digital bridge between citizens and the dogs of the Casavatore kennel: a new section has been created on the Municipality's institutional website dedicated to four-legged guests looking for a family.

Through photos, detailed information and practical advice, the administration aims to encourage informed adoptions and combat the phenomenon of stray animals in the municipal area.

This is the new initiative presented by the local police department, led by Commander Francesco Perrella. Lieutenant Rosa Masiello, head of the Stray Animals Unit, announced the opening of a dedicated section on the Municipality's website. The goal is clear: to give visibility to dogs looking for a family and provide practical tools for responsible coexistence.

Not just a photo gallery

The new page doesn't just show photos of the shelter's dogs, it also offers detailed profiles of each animal's age, size, and personality. "We want residents to get to know our guests even before they step through the shelter gates," explains Masiello. "An informed adoption is the first step to preventing future abandonment and ensuring the animal's well-being."

Useful information and services

In addition to adoptions, the website serves as a real information hub. Citizens will be able to find:
• Guide to finding: what to do and who to call (Municipal Police or ASL Veterinary Services) in case of finding a stray animal.
• Legal obligations: information on mandatory microchipping and the prevention of stray animals.
• Forms: quick access to documents for applying for adoption or foster care and management of feline colonies

A collective commitment

The initiative is part of a broader plan to combat stray animals, which sees the Municipality committed to monitoring and raising public awareness. Choosing to adopt a dog from a partner shelter is not just an act of love, but a civilized gesture that helps the Authority optimize shelter resources and reduce overcrowding.

Citizens are invited to consult the new section by connecting to the institutional website of the Municipality of Casavatore.
