A serious incident of workplace violence has shocked the Caserta area: an Air Campania bus driver was attacked near Capua while attempting to break up an argument between two passengers on the Castel Volturno-Capua route. The woman, identified as Antonia, was punched in the face, causing injuries that required emergency medical services.
The company immediately expressed its support and solidarity with the employee. "We have already initiated a dialogue with the institutions and law enforcement," said Anthony Acconcia, CEO of Air Campania, "and we are working to identify concrete solutions to ensure similar incidents are prevented from happening again. It is essential to strengthen safety conditions for those who provide a public service every day."
The incident has also sparked reactions within the trade union community. The Caserta branch of Filt-CGIL, through its secretary Tommaso Pascarella, firmly condemned the attack, calling it "unacceptable" and calling for urgent action to protect workers in the transport sector, who are already exposed to risks and difficulties on a daily basis. The union has called for immediate discussions with the company, the Prefecture, and the relevant institutions to ensure greater safety and protection for all workers in the sector.

It's truly unacceptable that such serious incidents occur in the workplace. Worker safety must be a priority for all companies; we can no longer tolerate violence against those who work every day.
