Casoria– A full-blown punitive raid, carried out in front of the terrified students, occurred at the Torrente Professional Institute in Casoria, where the mother of two students brutally attacked a math teacher during class time.
The teacher was forced to seek hospital treatment, while the Carabinieri, coordinated by the Naples North Prosecutor's Office, opened an investigation into the incident.
The raid during the lesson
The events, reconstructed from initial testimonies, highlight serious security breaches at the school. The woman, a 49-year-old mother of two students enrolled in different classes, showed up at the gates with the excuse of urgently needing to speak to one of her children. After greeting the security guards at the entrance without arousing suspicion, she headed confidently toward the classroom where the teacher was teaching.
Once she crossed the threshold, the situation escalated in moments: the woman ignored all institutional procedures, heading straight for the teacher's desk. From the initial verbal attacks and insults shouted in the teacher's face, the situation quickly escalated to physical violence.
Panic in the classroom and rescue efforts
The scene unfolded in front of a stunned classroom. While the mother pushed and punched the teacher, some panicked students fled the classroom, seeking shelter in the corridors. The intervention of a group of more alert students was crucial. After overcoming their initial shock, they placed themselves between the attacker and the victim, followed by ATA staff who rushed to restore calm.
The teacher, visibly shaken and injured, was taken to the hospital. The medical report, which attests to the physical trauma and psychological shock she suffered, was attached to the complaint filed with the local Carabinieri station.
Investigations and controversies on safety
While school principal Annamaria Orso has begun internal investigations to determine how an outsider was able to reach the classrooms undisturbed, protests from families are mounting.
Parent groups and student representatives are complaining about the lack of official communication from the school: "Why haven't we received any notice regarding such a serious incident? We're asking the Prefect to intervene to restore calm."
The Torrente Institute, known for its excellence in hotel management training, is experiencing a difficult time. The school, once attended by Martina Carbonaro (the 14-year-old victim of femicide last May), was recently the scene of another violent episode: a beating between undergraduate and graduate students.
The attack on the teacher now marks a further leap in the scale of violence, transforming a bastion of legality into a place of fear.

This is a very serious incident and raises concerns about school safety. It's incredible how a mother can attack a teacher without considering the consequences. We hope that stricter controls will be implemented to prevent similar situations in the future.
