Yesterday evening, in Castel Volturno, Carabinieri from the Operations and Radiomobile Unit of the Mondragone Territorial Unit stopped a Fiat Panda for a check along Via Fiume Adige. Two young men from the Naples area were on board.

The officers' attention immediately focused on the driver's license, a twenty-year-old resident of the Naples area, which was clearly unclear and raised concerns.

False driving license

Checks in police databases confirmed the suspicions: the document was fake, and the young man had never held a driving license. The rapid intervention prevented an unqualified driver from continuing to drive, endangering road safety and other road users.

Hashish from the passenger and in the vehicle

The passenger also came under scrutiny. He voluntarily handed over a small amount of hashish, declaring it for personal use. A search of the vehicle, however, revealed additional narcotics, all of which were seized administratively as required.

The driver was reported to the judicial authorities for using a false document and fined for driving without a license. The passenger was reported to the administrative authorities for possession of narcotics for personal use. Both are at liberty.
