Castellammare – The Naples Prefecture, with the support of law enforcement and the Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate, continues its intensive work to prevent and combat organized crime infiltration.

A targeted action aimed at protecting the healthy economic fabric of the region and anticipating the threshold for defending economic public order.

The measures signed by Prefect Michele di Bari

In recent days, the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has issued an administrative measure of collaborative prevention, pursuant to Article 94-bis of Legislative Decree no. 159 of 2011 (Anti-Mafia Code), against a company based in Castellammare di Stabia, operating in the construction sector.

At the same time, two anti-mafia prohibition orders were issued against two companies, also based in Castellammare di Stabia, operating respectively in the financial consultancy sector and the fruit and vegetable trade.

Protection of the legal economy and competition

The work carried out by the Prefecture of Naples is part of a comprehensive prevention strategy aimed at averting the risk of mafia infiltration into the market by countering the contamination of the legal economy by criminal organizations rooted in the area.

The measures adopted help safeguard public economic order, protect free competition between businesses, and ensure the proper functioning of public administration, while strengthening the trust of economic operators and citizens in institutions.

Prevention is important, but I don't know if prohibitive measures alone are enough to stop mafia infiltration. We need more controls and collaboration between law enforcement and citizens to protect a healthy economy.
