Castellammare – A daytime shooting has shaken the quiet of Via de Turris, but investigators are urging caution: rather than a message from the Camorra clans, it could be a personal dispute or a clash within the drug dealing world.
The intervention of the Carabinieri: report and discovery
Around 14:30 PM today, Carabinieri officers from the local unit responded to Via de Turris following a report of gunshots. At the scene, officers found and seized a shell casing of unknown caliber, but no injuries or apparent damage to property or people were reported.
The area, known for its proximity to the city center, was immediately secured to allow initial surveys.
Hypotheses on private matters or disagreements between pushers
Although Castellammare di Stabia has historically been linked to Camorra dynamics, preliminary investigative sources suggest the incident may not be related to clan-related issues. Rather, it appears to have a private motive—such as a family or personal dispute—or a settling of scores between small-time drug dealers, a growing phenomenon in urban suburbs.
Investigations underway: looking for witnesses and security cameras
The investigation continues apace: the Carabinieri are reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area and gathering statements from residents and passersby. No suspects have yet been identified, but the lack of injuries has eased public concern. The Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office, which has jurisdiction over the area, has been notified and may open a case for illegal possession and use of weapons.
