A silent tragedy, consumed within the walls of the home, has shocked the community of RietiA ten-month-old baby girl died after being accidentally crushed by her father while she was sleeping. According to an initial reconstruction, based in part on the father's account, the father and daughter fell asleep together on the night between Saturday and Sunday. While she was asleep, the man inadvertently crushed the girl's body, causing her to suffocate. When she awoke, the little girl was no longer breathing.
A race against time immediately began. The little girl was first transported to the De Lellis Hospital in Rieti and then urgently transferred to Rome, in the hope of saving her life. Her condition, however, immediately appeared grave: doctors found irreversible damage that left her with no chance of survival. After a few hours in the pediatric intensive care unit, the little girl died.
Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances. Currently, the prevailing theory remains that it was a tragic domestic accident, a fatality that shattered a life just beginning and left a family in deep grief.
