Naples – A landslide interrupted rail traffic on the Circumvesuviana this morning, creating disruption for commuters and travelers along the Naples-Sorrento line. The collapse occurred near the tracks near Via Panoramica, in the Castellammare Terme area.
As of 10:45 a.m., train service has resumed regularly along the entire Naples-Sorrento line. Problems related to landslides have been resolved. Trains are therefore running again between the Castellammare di Stabia and Vico Equense stations. The issue related to the landslide that occurred in the Via Panoramica area of Castellammare di Stabia has been resolved.
Trains will stop from 9am
The Ente Autonomo Volturno (Volturno Autonomous Authority) announced in an official statement that the Castellammare-Vico Equense railway line had been closed since 9:00 a.m. this morning. EAV technicians and municipal police responded immediately to the scene to conduct the necessary inspections and assess the extent of the damage.
Replacement bus service activated
To ensure service continuity, EAV had established a replacement bus service between the Castellammare and Vico Equense stations.
