The crash on the A16 towards Naples

The accident occurred yesterday evening on the A16 motorway, heading towards Naples, in the municipality of Nola, near the A30 junction. The violent collision between two cars resulted in the fatalities of two occupants: emergency services were unsuccessful.

The findings of the Highway Police

The Highway Police officers (responsible for the stretch) intervened on the scene, carrying out surveys to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the impact and begin investigations into any possible responsibilities.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by investigators: no hypotheses have been ruled out at this time, and investigations are continuing to determine what caused the collision on a particularly busy stretch of road.

Traffic diverted for rescue operations

To allow for rescue operations and road safety, traffic was temporarily diverted at the Nola exit of the A30 motorway. According to reports, no significant traffic disruptions occurred in the direction of the capital thanks to the management of traffic by law enforcement officers on site.

The pain of the union

“The news shocked me and saddens me greatly!” wrote Rosario Fiorentino, head of the union, on social media. He then added: “A family destroyed. I am deeply saddened. It shouldn't have happened. The Flaica Cub union is wrapping its flags in mourning and shares with emotion and sadness the grief of the children and all their families. A life dedicated to family, work, and rights. To the dignity of those who work. Examples of life. We will never forget you.”
