On Saturday, February 7, 2026, starting at 19:00 PM, Atena Lucana (Sa) becomes a living and active part of a shared cultural gesture. At the Schifa Lab spaces, Narhval Edizioni presents Interspaces/Confluences, a multidisciplinary project that is not simply an event, but is configured as a space to be traversed and inhabited in a widespread way.
In this context, Atena Lucana serves not only as a backdrop, but also as a territory that welcomes and amplifies the initiative, demonstrating how contemporaneity can thrive and generate value even far from major centers.
This initiative represents a synthesis of the path Narhval Edizioni has taken thus far. It's a non-definitive synthesis, one that takes root and continues to evolve. Here, literature becomes a social and collective game, while music, dance, and voice guide the audience in a slow and participatory experience. Interspaces/Confluences It thus becomes a place of possibility, "a space in which to stop and indulge in a brief escape from the ordinary", as stated in social media by its creators and organizers.
Narhval Edizioni—which we've previously written about at the Rarreca Book Festival in Caggiano (SA) and the "La notte dei Mulini" event—is an independent, free, and visionary publishing house founded in 2024 in San Rufo (SA). It likes to define itself as "a collective brain, a place of generative encounters and clashes." It takes its name from the narwhal, the "unicorn of the sea" that swims in the waters of the North: a rare, strange animal, and therefore a symbol of freedom. In describing itself, the publishing house states: "Narhval explores its identity, flees noise, and seeks light." This statement defines the essence of its editorial approach, founded on the uniqueness of the book and the pursuit of texts capable of transcending time. In this context, the format Interspaces/Confluences becomes the natural expression of the identity of this young, but already refined cultural reality.
The event offers a rich and diverse program, which audiences can enjoy through the engaging artists featured. The heart of the evening will feature Enzina Cappelli, curator of a dance performance inspired by Oppius's texts for Ovid and co-creator of the evening's featured project. Gabriella Ripamonti's reading aloud, in which body and words engage in a dialogue, will accompany the performance, amplifying the theme of transformation.
The Schifa Lab spaces will also host:
- an exhibition of autographed works by Jole Tognelli, a “submerged” painter and poet, to be observed closely;
- an interactive reading room, with games and textual devices designed to move between texts and leave traces;
- a graphic-editorial project which tells the story of Narhval Edizioni's work as a process, through a technical glossy roller (1x4 m) designed by Martina Cusin and Francesco Caggiano.
Music will tie the evening's events together: selections by Francesco Neto Ciliberto – Discoteca Flegrea DJ set and his double will accompany the audience.
There will also be a refreshment area, staffed by Locanda San Cipriano, offering culinary delights based on local tradition.
The initiative was also carried out Thanks to the collaboration with Archivio Atena, the Municipality of Atena Lucana, and the Monte Pruno Giovani Association, this project demonstrates how cooperation between diverse entities can generate valuable cultural projects in the area.
