Caserta – They were practicing physiotherapy without being registered with the professional association, even making diagnoses and prescribing treatment. The State Police reported four people—two therapists and the owners of two centers—after inspections at rehabilitation facilities between Casal di Principe and Villa Literno, in the Caserta area.
The investigation started from a report
The investigation was triggered after reports of the presence, in some centers in the area, of a man and a woman who were practicing as physiotherapists despite not having the necessary qualifications.
Officers from the Casal di Principe police station have therefore begun targeted inspections at various rehabilitation facilities in the area.
Therapies and evaluations without registration
In two centers, the police identified employees permanently employed in physiotherapy roles, despite not being registered in the National Register of Physiotherapists.
According to what emerged, the operators performed clinical assessments, formulated functional diagnoses and recommended treatment plans to patients, activities reserved by law for qualified professionals.
The owners of the facilities were also involved
In addition to the alleged fake physiotherapists, the managers of the two centers have also been charged. The owners are accused of failing to verify the qualifications and professional registration of the healthcare personnel employed at the facilities.
For all, the alleged crime is the unauthorized practice of the healthcare profession.
