A heated outburst, caught on camera, now risks escalating into a disciplinary case. Antonio Conte has been targeted by the Italian Federal Prosecutor's Office after insulting referee Manganiello during the Coppa Italia match between Napoli and Como. The incident was linked to the failure to send off defender Ramon, who was spared a second yellow card during a tense moment of the match.

The footage clearly shows the Italian coach vehemently protesting from the bench and uttering an unequivocal statement: "At least go and see it, you dickhead." These words were apparently not heard by the referee, who was far from the technical area, nor by the fourth official, but were captured by the television production's ambient audio. The footage quickly began circulating online, eventually landing on the desk of federal prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè.

Since the arbitration report makes no reference to the incident, any proceedings would be based on the audiovisual material. The Prosecutor's Office is acquiring images and audio recordings to assess whether to formally open a case. The most likely scenario is a referral for insulting or disrespectful remarks toward the arbitrator.

In terms of potential consequences, Conte risks a one-match suspension, a sanction that could be upgraded to a fine if the coach decides to pursue a plea bargain. This decision would allow him to avoid a suspension, but it would still represent an admission of disciplinary responsibility.

Yes, but there are a lot of emotions at play during matches. Every coach would react similarly, especially if there's a controversial decision that could affect the final result.

I agree with you, but I think the words used are too strong and shouldn't be tolerated. Coaches should lead by example and not indulge in inappropriate comments during a game.

This article is interesting because it discusses a situation that could have serious consequences for Conte. Insulting the referee is unacceptable, but I understand the frustration during a tense moment like a Coppa Italia match.
