Capua – Carabinieri from the Capua Company have executed a precautionary house arrest order against two individuals, a man and a woman, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
One of the two suspects was already subject to the same measure for another case. The charges against him are snatching and aggravated robbery involving the use of a weapon.
The police investigations
The order represents the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Vairano Scalo station, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation was based on the analysis of images from video surveillance systems in the area and the study of telephone records, elements that allowed the reconstruction of the couple's alleged responsibilities.
The theft from the old lady
According to reports, in September 2024, in Pietravairano, the two allegedly committed a snatch theft against an 80-year-old woman, stealing a gold necklace estimated to be worth around a thousand euros.
The supermarket robbery
About a year later, in September 2025, again in Pietravairano, the pair allegedly committed an armed robbery against the owner of a well-known supermarket. According to the prosecution, after assaulting and threatening him with a knife, they forced him to hand over the evening's takings.
