Detached, cold, and devoid of any signs of regret. This is the attitude displayed by Giuseppe Musella, 28, from Ponticelli, who confessed to the murder of his sister Jlenia, during the brief conversation he had yesterday in Secondigliano prison with the chaplain, Father Giovanni Russo.

To the ritual question, "How are you?", Musella reportedly replied without hesitation: "Everything's fine, don't worry." This response deeply touched the priest. Don Giovanni's message during his homily was to underscore the detachment, especially among young people, from the tragedies that have recently struck our region and beyond. The parish priest invited the faithful to reflect deeply on human relationships.

The interview with the chaplain

The behavior in prison so shocked Don Giovanni Russo, parish priest of the church of Santa Maria Assunta on Via Nolana, in the Parrelle area of Pompeii, that he decided to recount the episode to the faithful during mass this morning.

Meeting with the prisoners' guarantor

On the same day, Giuseppe Musella also met with Samuele Ciambriello, the guarantor of prisoners in Campania, who was visiting the various departments of the Secondigliano prison for the usual institutional meetings.

Ciambriello found Musella in a cell with another inmate. The conversation lasted several minutes and never delved into the details of the murder. The 28-year-old reported that he was treated fairly within the prison.

“Too much nonsense about me”

During the meeting, Musella dwelt on what he claimed had been written or reported inaccurately about him and his family. He dismissed these reports and rumors as "nonsense."

He spoke of his childhood and adolescence, which were spent largely in the Luzzatti neighborhood, where he attended the local parish. It was there that his sister Julenia's funeral was held yesterday afternoon.

Musella also recalled his sporting experience, saying he played for a football team as a left winger.

No self-harm intent

The young man finally firmly denied rumors that he had attempted self-harm. According to him, these rumors were completely unfounded. "One tragedy is enough, and two aren't needed," his mother reportedly told him.

A story that still needs to be clarified

While investigations continue to reconstruct in detail the circumstances and motive behind Julenia Musella's murder, the image remains of a self-confessed criminal who, at least at this stage, appears impervious to the weight of his actions. This attitude continues to challenge investigators, prison officials, and a community still reeling from a family tragedy beyond repair.

Giuseppe Musella's attitude is truly strange; he seems to feel no remorse for his sister. It's a thought-provoking behavior; I don't understand how anyone can be so detached in a situation like this.
