Marano di Napoli – Late yesterday afternoon, Carabinieri officers from the Marano di Napoli Company put an end to a drug dealing operation on Via Falcone. The operation led to the arrest of Ciro Barone, a 32-year-old from Calvizzano who was already known to law enforcement.
The intervention in Via Falcone
Military patrol cars were patrolling the area when they spotted two men engaged in a suspicious exchange: a package for a sum of money. The officers quickly approached, nipping the operation in the bud.
The seizure and identification
When searched, Barone was found in possession of 55 doses of drugs ready for sale: cocaine, marijuana, and hashish, both on his person and in his car. Additionally, €220 in small denomination banknotes, considered the proceeds of the illegal activity, were seized.
The man was arrested on drug trafficking charges. After the usual formalities, he was taken to Poggioreale prison to await a summary trial.

It's incredible how the drug situation continues to worry our cities. I hope law enforcement continues to do its job to reduce these problems. Barone seemed like a decent person, but in the end, something bad always turns out.
