Afragola – "The Prosecutor's Office recognizes that Martina was killed in a place that left her defenseless." This is according to Sergio Pisani, attorney representing the family of Martina Carbonaro, the 14-year-old killed in Afragola (Naples) on May 26, 2025, by her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend Alessio Tucci, represented by Mario Mangazzo.
Investigation closed and charges filed: aggravated voluntary homicide
The North Naples Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation conducted by the Casoria Carabinieri into the girl's femicide and charged Tucci, who confessed, with aggravated voluntary manslaughter.
Among the aggravating circumstances indicated is also the weakened defense: according to the prosecution's approach, Martina was hit on the head with a stone in an isolated and abandoned place, where she could not have received help.
The crime scene and the "responsibility issue"
The 14-year-old's body was found in a building that had once housed the caretaker of the city's sports field north of Naples. This aspect, Pisani recalls, had already been highlighted in the hours following the discovery.
"That site, despite NRRP funding, was abandoned and unmonitored: this raises a serious issue of liability on the part of the Municipality," the lawyer claims, adding that any omissions that may have contributed to the tragedy must be clarified. "The safety of public spaces is a duty."
After the murder: the hidden body and participation in the search
After the attack, according to the reconstruction, Tucci left the girl's body under a pile of debris; the body was only located after a second search of the building.
In the hours following her disappearance, the 19-year-old reportedly participated in the search. The judge, in his arrest warrant, also noted that Tucci had lied to the 14-year-old's parents.

This is truly a sad case and makes us reflect on how such situations can occur. The municipality's responsibility must be taken seriously, because public spaces must be safe for everyone and cannot be abandoned without proper controls.
