NAPLES – Scott McTominay will be out of the match against Roma. The Scottish midfielder has not been included in the squad for the next league match after suffering a physical problem in the last match against Genoa.

Despite recovery efforts in recent days, the player's condition hasn't allowed him to be definitively cleared. Napoli's medical staff has carefully assessed the situation, choosing not to rush the process to avoid possible relapses that could complicate the rest of the season.

The decision is part of a strategy of prudent resource management, ahead of what promises to be a busy and crucial schedule. McTominay had shown encouraging signs during his recovery, but the club opted to err on the side of caution, preserving him for subsequent fixtures.

More positive indications are coming in regarding Billy Gilmour. The midfielder is expected to return to the coach's disposal and be included in the squad for the match against the Giallorossi. He's expected to start on the bench, at least initially, with the option of coming on as a substitute during the match. His return, however, offers an additional option in midfield for what promises to be an intense match.
