Frattamaggiore – Wild nightlife and security requirements for venues: City Councilor Tommaso Capasso questions managers, local police, and Mayor Marco Antonio Del Prete.
In a note sent to the director of the 4th sector, Engineer Alessandro Cirillo, the Commander of the Local Police, Mayor Del Prete, and the Prefect of Naples Michele Di Bari, the councilor requested the acquisition of a series of documents regarding numerous establishments in the city. These documents are a consequence of the increase in commercial activities for restaurants and food services that have changed the face of Frattamaggiore in recent years, transforming it, according to Capasso, from a natural shopping center devoted to high fashion, into a "foodification" city, with a high concentration of businesses within a few meters that attract large crowds, making entire areas unlivable for residents.
“The presence of such a number of commercial activities requires – according to the councillor – a more general and comprehensive assessment of their compliance with the legal requirements regarding safety, hygiene and health characteristics and emissions into the environment, also considering the latest news story involving a commercial premises “Crans-Montana tragedy” and which has highlighted the potential criticality of these activities where all the precautions and legal requirements are not fully respected according to the national and regional standards and local regulations in force with specific indications and specific requirements regarding the aspects mentioned above”-
In light of this, Tommaso Capasso requested a list of commercial practices for catering and public catering authorized in the last three years with explicit reference to fire safety. For each practice, he indicated whether, due to its type or size, it qualifies as requiring a preventive fire safety assessment, and whether such assessment or authorization was obtained along with a verification of its validity and specific compliance with the current intended use.
Also requiring for commercial practices the explicit verification of compliance with the dimensional requirements for the removal of architectural barriers in accordance with Law no. 13/89 and the related Ministerial Decree 14.6.1989 no. 236, with the acquisition of the list of the aforementioned commercial activities examined and released as of the approval of the current RUEC regarding the regulation of atmospheric discharges, with indication of the results of the checks on compliance with the national legislative provisions (Legislative Decree 152/2006 and subsequent amendments) and local regulations (articles 83 and 97 RUEC).
In short, there would be little control of the territory, especially in the evening hours and after 21 pm, with the weekends seeing the city literally "handed over" to the patrons of the wild nightlife, with scooters racing on the sidewalks and total chaos that in the event of an emergency even emergency vehicles would have serious difficulty circulating.

Yes, but there are too many people around and the venues don't always follow the rules. Safety must be a priority, otherwise we risk more serious problems in the future.
I think the situation in Frattamaggiore is complex, and there are many things to consider. Businesses must comply with safety regulations, but it's also true that nightlife brings life to the city. We need to find a balance.
