On Wednesday morning, officers from the Naples Flying Squad arrested Antonio Passaretti, executing the warrant signed on February 6 by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples – Criminal Enforcement Office.

The man, already known to law enforcement, was given a restrictive sentence of 7 years, 2 months, and 16 days in prison.

The alleged crimes

The decision refers to a series of incidents committed between 2017 and 2023 in Naples and Bibbiena, in the province of Arezzo. Passaretti was found responsible for drug-related crimes, fraud, and resisting arrest.

In light of the procedural framework and the convictions already handed down, the measure was adopted that led to the execution of the concurrent sentences, returning the man to detention.

“Old acquaintance” of the police

For Passaretti, who has previously been the focus of targeted investigative activity, Wednesday's arrest marks his return to prison after a period of release. This new conviction adds to his criminal record, involving drug dealing, fraud, and conflicts with law enforcement.

Passaretti's arrest raises concerns about the safety of our city. But I don't understand how he can continue to commit crimes despite already being known to law enforcement. Preventive measures don't seem to be working as they should.
