Naples – Another drug dealing bust in the heart of the San Carlo Arena neighborhood. A 31-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement for specific crimes, was arrested yesterday afternoon by the State Police on charges of unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The operation is part of the extraordinary measures ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters to intensify territorial control and combat drug trafficking.
Control and escape attempt
The raid took place on Via Filippo Maria Briganti. Officers from the San Carlo Arena Police Station, patrolling the area, noticed the man lurking suspiciously. Upon seeing the patrol car, the 31-year-old quickly attempted to escape, attempting to evade detection, but the officers did not fail to notice.
The seizure: 187 packages ready for sale
The man was apprehended and arrested within moments and subjected to a search. He was carrying a veritable "portable market": the officers found and seized 187 packages of cocaine, weighing a total of approximately 91 grams. This quantity, according to investigators, leaves little doubt as to the drug's destination.
The 31-year-old was immediately arrested: his arrest is part of a broader strategy to combat widespread crime and drug trafficking in the city's working-class neighborhoods.
