Naples – The nightlife of Naples' historic center has come under scrutiny by the Carabinieri Provincial Command.
A sweeping operation in the dead of night also involved the local police, with the aim of verifying compliance with safety regulations in clubs, following the tragedies that have plagued Italy in recent years. The toll is heavy: a club seized, complaints filed, fines issued, and numerous irregularities discovered in alleys and nightclubs.
The shock check: 293 people where 130 were supposed to be
The most high-profile raid took place at a nightclub at Via Nazario Sauro 21. Soldiers from the Naples Central Company, upon entering the nightclub, made an alarming discovery: 293 people were crammed inside, compared to a maximum capacity of only 130. This represented 125% overcrowding, a situation posing a very high risk to the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
For this reason, the Carabinieri ordered the immediate precautionary seizure of the business.
Minors Drinking Alcohol in Vicoletto Belledonne
The teams then moved to the bars in Vicoletto Belledonne, another epicenter of Neapolitan nightlife. Here, checks uncovered another serious violation: the owner and an employee of a pub were caught serving spirits to children as young as 14.
Both were charged at liberty. The incident refocuses attention on the sensitive issue of combating alcohol consumption among adolescents.
Repeat offenders and drugs
The city's typical nighttime behavior was not lacking. The Carabinieri identified and reported two illegal parking attendants, already known to law enforcement for the same behavior (repeat offenders). During the checks, seven young people were also reported to the Prefecture for drug use.
Record fines for violations of the Highway Code
The "Movida" operation also had a significant impact on traffic and road safety. Of the 37 vehicles checked, 36 tickets were issued for traffic violations. Additionally, 7 scooters were seized, likely because they were being driven in serious violations or by individuals without a license.
The operation demonstrates how controls to prevent massacres and illegality in nightlife are a constant and priority activity, ready to severely sanction anyone who endangers public safety for profit or negligence.

The article discusses a very serious situation regarding nightlife in Naples, but I believe the measures adopted are insufficient. It's important that the authorities act more rigorously to ensure the safety of citizens and young people.
