Naples – Two years of terror, constant threats, beatings, verbal humiliation, and repeated sexual violence: this is the ordeal endured by a Sri Lankan woman, harassed by her compatriot, until her arrest today by the State Police.

The Naples Flying Squad, together with officers from the Montecalvario police station, executed a precautionary detention order issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Prosecutor's Office.

The man – a Sri Lankan citizen like the victim – is charged with domestic abuse, sexual assault, and aggravated personal injury. A regime of constant oppression. The investigations, coordinated by the IV "Vulnerable Groups" section of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office (led by Deputy Prosecutor Raffaello Falcone), have uncovered serious evidence of a pattern of systematic oppression that continued from January 2024 to January 2026.

The woman was kept under constant harassment and control: physical assaults, insults, threats, and a climate of fear that progressively eroded her freedom and will.

On several occasions, the man allegedly sneaked into the victim's home—probably after a separation or estrangement—to force her to undergo non-consensual sexual acts. The complaint that breaks the silence. Only after two years of abuse did the woman find the strength to report it.

The account given to investigators allowed them to precisely reconstruct the spiral of violence, culminating in the issuing of the precautionary prison order to prevent the risk of repeating the crimes and further intimidation.

The case further confirms the importance of the specialized section of the Naples Prosecutor's Office in combating gender-based violence and crimes committed within the family, which are often characterized by long-term behavior and the victim's difficulty in escaping the aggressor's control. The police emphasize that the arrest ends a situation of grave danger to the woman's physical and psychological safety.
