A fire broke out overnight on Via Chiaia in the building that also houses the Sannazaro Theater. Numerous firefighters are on the scene.
The flames affected the upper part of the building and then spread to the courtyard. Four people were injured and hospitalized. Efforts are underway to extinguish the fire, while some residents of the building have been evacuated as a precaution.
An attempt will then be made to determine the cause of the fire. Many residents in the area were forced to close their windows and balconies due to the smoke. The air is unbreathable. Lara Sansone, owner and artistic director of the theater, arrived on the scene. The granddaughter of actress Luisa Conte burst into tears after being told of the state of the theater. The theater's dome collapsed, hitting the stalls.
