The Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary operations to combat drug possession and trafficking continue. On Wednesday evening, the State Police arrested Marco Sarnelli, 38, already known to law enforcement for specific criminal convictions, on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The check in Via Gussone and the escape
According to the reconstruction by officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia police station, the man was spotted driving a car on Via Gussone. Upon seeing the patrol, he accelerated in an attempt to evade detection, resulting in a brief chase.
Blocked on Via Arenaccia: 10 packages seized
The vehicle was located and stopped on Via Arenaccia. During the search, officers allegedly found 10 packages of marijuana, weighing approximately 18 grams in total, and €110 in cash in various denominations. The 38-year-old was arrested for these items.
Extraordinary checks in Ponticelli: the numbers
Yesterday, State Police personnel (Ponticelli Police Station, Flying Squad, and Prevention Unit), along with the Carabinieri and Metropolitan Police, conducted an extraordinary patrol of the affected area. During the operation, 232 people were identified, 186 vehicles were checked, and 15 traffic violations were reported.
