Naples – The Naples Police Headquarters' crackdown on the city's drug dealing hubs continues. The latest crackdown on the drug market was carried out yesterday evening by officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station, who were engaged in an extraordinary patrol of the area.

The operation began on Via Gussone, where officers intercepted two young men riding a scooter. Upon seeing the patrol car, the two abandoned their vehicle in the middle of the street, attempting a desperate escape on foot through the neighborhood's alleys.

The chase ended shortly afterward when officers managed to apprehend one of the fugitives. The young man, a 24-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, attempted to resist and engaged in a struggle with officers before being finally subdued.

During the search, the investigators' suspicions were confirmed: the boy was hiding 15 bags of marijuana (approximately 35 grams) and the sum of 1.175 euros in small denomination banknotes, believed to be the proceeds of the evening's drug dealing activity.

The 24-year-old was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, assault, and resisting a public official. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to identify the accomplice who managed to escape.

I read the article and it seems like the police are doing a good job fighting drugs in the city. But it's worrying that so many young people are involved in these activities. I hope there are more initiatives to prevent this phenomenon.
