Naples – A long trail of psychological, physical, and financial abuse, culminating in symbolic gestures interpreted as threats, emerges from the supplement to a complaint filed by a 35-year-old mother living in the Vesuvius area, who accuses her ex-husband and several of his relatives of domestic violence, obsessive control, and prolonged stalking.
Years of control and isolation
According to the report, the relationship was marked since the engagement by a progressive deprivation of personal freedom: social isolation, controlled movements, constant humiliation, and psychological pressure.
The woman reports that over time she has also been deprived of her financial independence and that she has been intimidated by references to her ex's alleged ties to criminal circles.
Violence during pregnancy
According to the complaint, the most serious incidents occurred during her pregnancy and after the birth of her son. The 35-year-old describes physical assaults, kicks, and pushes, leading to police intervention in July 2024, following an argument that escalated into violence.
Symbols transformed into threats
What makes the story particularly disturbing are several incidents that occurred after the complaint was filed. The woman reports that red shoes, a symbol universally associated with the fight against violence against women, were placed outside her home, displayed—according to her—for provocative and intimidating purposes. On another occasion, the intercom button at her mother's home was reportedly smeared with red lipstick, an act also considered a threatening message.
Cameras, damage and daily pressures
The 35-year-old's story also includes incidents of alleged invasive video surveillance, with cameras pointed at her home, damage, obstacles to her mobility with her son's stroller, and a long series of harassment and spiteful behavior, described as a continuous form of psychological pressure.
The lawyer: "A language of intimidation"
According to the woman's lawyer, "it is particularly disturbing that symbols created to commemorate victims of gender-based violence, such as red shoes or lipstick, have been transformed in this case into a veritable language of intimidation."
