NAPLES – The extraordinary operations ordered by the Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking in the city center continue. Yesterday evening, officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station arrested a 23-year-old woman of Moroccan origin, already known to law enforcement, on charges of illegal possession of narcotics, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official.
The operation took place on Via Carriera Grande, near Porta Capuana, where officers, conducting a patrol, caught the young woman selling drugs to a buyer. Upon seeing the officers, they attempted to stop the operation, but the 23-year-old allegedly resisted, resulting in a scuffle before being apprehended.
During the search, she was found in possession of several packages of crack cocaine and a 20-euro bill believed to be the proceeds of the recent sale. The buyer, taking advantage of the turmoil, managed to disappear. The young woman was arrested.

Reading about this arrest, it seems to me that law enforcement is doing an important job for the safety of citizens. However, I hope that social services can also intervene to help those involved in trafficking.
