In the early hours of yesterday morning, the State Police executed an order for precautionary custody at the Nisida Juvenile Detention Center, issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Naples Juvenile Court.

The order concerns an Italian minor residing in the province of Caserta, investigated under Article 270-bis, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code for participating, through virtual channels, in a terrorist organization. In the summer of 2025, he had sworn and shared his oath of allegiance to the Islamic State online.

The investigative activities of the DIGOS police officers of the Naples Police Headquarters, in collaboration with the DIGOS of the Caserta Police Headquarters, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Naples and carried out with the support of the Central Directorate of the Prevention Police, have allowed the acquisition of investigative elements regarding direct virtual contacts with individuals who proclaimed themselves members of ISIS and who are based in Syria;

Furthermore, the investigation revealed that the minor had caused a massive dissemination of videos depicting terrorist techniques, downloaded from the dark web and also addressed to some of his peers living in Campania, on whom further investigative investigations are underway.

Furthermore, the young suspect allegedly downloaded and shared with his online circle of friends multimedia content containing instructions for making DIY explosives, produced by Islamic State communications agencies.

In the next few days, the minor will be questioned by the Preliminary Investigations Judge.

It is pointed out that the principle of presumption of innocence applies and that the responsibility of the persons under investigation will be definitively ascertained only if an irrevocable sentence of conviction is issued.
