Another workplace tragedy occurred this morning in Nocera Inferiore, where a 24-year-old man from Sarno lost his life in an accident on a construction site.
Yet another fatal work-related accident in Campania has brought renewed attention to workplace safety, especially in logistics and transportation.
The accident in the transport company's yard
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. in a construction site located on Via Fiano, within the yard of a transport and logistics company in Nocera Inferiore.
According to the Carabinieri's initial reconstruction, the young man was in the maneuvering area when he was struck by a company truck that was reversing. No slowdown signals or warning systems were found at the scene that could have prevented the impact.
The rescue operations and the dynamics still to be clarified
Rescuers arrived immediately, but there was nothing they could do for the 24-year-old: the injuries he sustained in the crash proved fatal.
Law enforcement immediately cordoned off the area to allow for technical surveys and an examination of the possible causes of the accident. The exact circumstances are currently under investigation.
Carabinieri on site and investigations begin
The Carabinieri of the Nocera Inferiore Territorial Unit, coordinated by Colonel Gianfranco Albanese, arrived on the scene and began an investigation to reconstruct the sequence of events point by point.
The aim is to determine any liability by verifying whether construction site safety regulations were complied with, with particular attention to procedures for maneuvering heavy vehicles within company yards.
New workplace safety alert in Campania
This tragedy is part of an alarming regional picture: it is yet another workplace death in Campania in recent weeks, confirming the persistent criticality related to safety conditions in many production sectors, from construction to transportation.
Trade unions and workers' associations are once again calling for stricter controls and effective prevention policies, after similar incidents in the past have led to subsequent legislative and inspection interventions.

This seems like important news, but the description is a bit confusing and details are missing. Witnesses give different versions of the situation. The truck was reversing without signals, the workers were not protected, and it appears the rules were not being respected. We hope the investigation will shed light on the situation.
