It was an afternoon of terror for a woman from Orta di Atella, beaten and robbed of her jewelry by her partner in front of her minor daughter. The perpetrator of the incident is a 67-year-old man from the province of Avellino, arrested yesterday afternoon by officers from the Operations Section of the Marcianise Carabinieri Company, in collaboration with personnel from the local station.

A history of prolonged violence

According to investigators' reconstruction, yesterday morning's incident appears to be not an isolated incident: the man's violent behavior toward his live-in partner appears to have continued over time. During the attack, the 67-year-old allegedly forcibly stole the woman's valuables and took her car, before temporarily disappearing.

The escape and the discovery

The Carabinieri launched an immediate search and quickly located the man. A personal and home search yielded further surprises: approximately 40 grams of cocaine, a precision scale, and packaging materials were found in his possession. A replica Smith & Wesson revolver was also seized, which, according to investigations, had been used on multiple occasions to threaten his partner.

The man was arrested on charges of robbery, domestic violence, serious threats, and illegal possession of narcotics. By order of the judicial authorities, he was placed under house arrest in a residence separate from the one he shared with the victim.

It's a very sad story that makes you think about how certain episodes of violence can unfortunately happen. I hope the woman can find the strength to move forward and that justice is served.
