Late this morning, February 2, 2026, the Carabinieri of the Parete Station executed an arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Naples – Criminal Enforcement Office.
The inmate's profile
The measure concerned a 55-year-old man born in Naples, resident in the capital, and de facto domiciled in Parete. The man, already known to law enforcement and under house arrest for the same crimes, will serve a total sentence of 18 years in prison.
The alleged crimes
The conviction stems from several aggravated robberies committed in the province of Naples between 2015 and 2020.
After the usual formalities, the arrested man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. Officers from the Parete Carabinieri Station informed the judicial authorities.
Naples - The prison sentence has been confirmed for Mario Monticelli, the 42-year-old robber who allegedly committed three robberies and attempted a fourth in the space of 24 hours last week, terrorizing business owners and hospitality workers in central Naples. On Friday afternoon, the State Police arrested him...
He had sown panic in the nightlife of frattamaggiore, pointing a gun at young people caught in the streets of the city center and near their homes. Now the alleged serial robber, a 34-year-old man already detained for other crimes, has been issued a precautionary custody order by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples North at the request of the Prosecutor's Office. The order was executed on September 3 by officers of the Investigative Team of the Frattamaggiore Police Station, at the end of an investigation that allowed them to reconstruct at least six incidents of rapina armed robberies, five completed and one attempted, committed in a few days last April.
The first raid dates back to the night of April 6th, when the man, armed with a gun, allegedly approached a group of young people in a car parked near a friend's house. According to investigators, he blocked one of the young men as he was getting out of the vehicle and, threatening everyone with the gun, forced them to hand over the money they were carrying. A few days later, on April 8th, the scene was repeated in the same neighborhood: this time, the robber targeted a young man who was returning home from a residential park. The man allegedly approached him on foot and, pointing the gun at him, demanded that he hand over the money.
A forty-year-old man from Castel Volturno was arrested by police for a series of robberies targeting women as they parked their cars. The man, armed with a gun, struck primarily in Aversa, Villa Literno, and Trentola Ducenta. The latest, particularly violent incident involved a young mother and her young son. Thanks to the images…

It's important to know that the laws are severe for those who commit crimes, but the penalties seem very high. I hope the authorities do a good job of preventing similar situations in the future.
The article discusses a man arrested for serious crimes, but it's unclear what led to his conviction. Information is scarce, and perhaps more clarification is needed.
