Castel Volturno – Improper weapons and an oversized blade were hidden in the car and in the pockets of their pants. The excuse, perhaps, was a normal evening stroll, but for two 21-year-olds, the evening ended with them being charged with illegal possession of offensive objects.

The evening check

The incident occurred late yesterday evening, Tuesday, February 18, when Carabinieri officers from the Castel Volturno station intensified patrols in the densely populated Pinetamare neighborhood. The aim was to prevent and quell widespread illegal activity, and the officers' attention quickly focused on a Fiat Panda with two young people inside.

The discovery in the car and in the pocket

Deciding to proceed with a thorough check, the Carabinieri stopped the vehicle. The checks didn't stop at the documents: after conducting a personal and vehicle search, the situation immediately became clear to the officers.

Inside the vehicle, the officers found a baseball bat, ready for use. But that wasn't all. A knife with a particularly dangerous blade, 23 centimeters long, was found in the pocket of one of the two boys.

There was nothing that could be done for the two 21-year-olds, one a resident of Castel Volturno and the other from the Miano neighborhood of Naples. The weapons were immediately seized, and they were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office. They will now face charges of illegal possession of weapons or objects intended to offend.
